Costume ideas for the Stations of the Cross
I've added some photos for ideas for costumes for the Stations of the Cross presentation. Parents are not required to buy costumes and can use items already at home. You can buy items at dollar stores or thrift stores if you would like to enhance the costume. Buying costumes are also another option but this is definitely not required.
1 - Items already at home:
(Towels, Hand towels, bathrobes, belts, khakis and white school uniforms, scarves/shawls and plain coloured dresses)
Using large plain towels around a child's shoulders secured by a belt works well as a robe. Using a plain coloured bathrobe works as well. Using these over the khaki uniform pants and a white shirt is more than enough to get the look that we are aiming for.
Also, you can use bathrobes and plain leather or robe belts. A hand towel around the head can work as a head covering secured with a rope.
A plain shawl/scarf or lose material works well as a sash.
2 - Items to buy at the dollar store or thrift store
(Angel wings, helmets, white bed sheets, costume robes, bathrobes)
I recently bought a helmet at the Dollar Tree in White Oaks. Unfortunately, it was the last one but there may be more in the Westmount Dollar Tree. Armour can also be purchased at dolloar store as well as other costume ideas.
You can purchase a bed sheet and used that as a robe. You can also cut a whole in the center and pin under the arms of sleeves. Securing it with any belt around the waist.
**I will be recording the presentation next week. Please have costumes ready by then.
